I have a great interview for you today by the lovely Sammy Gatehouse aka Samantha Valentine ! I was blown away by Sammy’s amazing talent the first time I met her, she is the most amazing belly dancer, I remember to this day how amazing it was, she did a fusion/dance style of belly dancing, it was just awesome! I was lucky enough for her to dance on my birthday too 🙂 Thanks Sammy xx

Where do you live in this wonderful world at the moment ?

I live in Milton Keynes among the trees

What do you do for “work” ?

I work in an office by day but by night I am a dancer in training, I hope to make the transition to make dance my full-time job one day.

Tell us a little about your beautiful unique self :

What are your unique talents & gifts?

I have an uncanny knack of imitating rather well! Sounds, accents or people. And I’m gifted in quite a few artistic areas. I have a passion for anything that involves creating or expressing myself.

What does being healthy mean to you?

To me, being healthy means everything. My abilities as a dancer are greatly affected by keeping my mind, body and soul healthy

What makes you feel alive?

What makes me feel alive, well, definitely the following: performing, epic music and spicy food. Although I wouldn’t recommend doing all three at once!

What breakfast gets you off to a flying start?

It depends on what time of year it is, if it’s in the spring or summer then nothing beats a big green smoothie for breakfast. Right now my body has decided on avocado on rye bread with a tiny sprinkling of truffle salt. It’s pretty damn awesome

What would be your perfect day?

My perfect day would definitely involve a lot of yoga, meditation, delicious food and a huge amount of dancing. It would have to be on a particularly beautiful day too

What’s your top 3 foods that make you feel vibrant?

My top three foods that make me feel vibrant have got to be anything Thai inspired, smoothies/juices and stir fry. Basically anything full of fruit and veg

What’s your favourite nourishing recipe to share with us ?

One of my favourite nourishing recipes for winter, has to be roasted vegetables (roasted in coconut oil) with quinoa. I use whatever vegetables I have to hand, usually sweet potato, red pepper, courgette, mushroom and fresh tomatoes. I also add a few whole cloves of garlic and a fair amount of sliced thai chillies (it’s awesome with a kick). I  roast the veg on a low heat for about 30 minutes and then add some extra tomatoes for the last 10 minutes. For the quinoa I follow the packet instructions but I make sure I cook it in stock for a little extra flavor

What are your top tips for happiness, health & balance?

My top tip for happiness and health has got to be everything in moderation. You should never deny yourself of something if you really desire it, just be sure not to go overboard with it. I hate to sound too cliche but there is such a thing as too much of a good thing, whether it’s eating too much fruit or doing too much exercise and obviously you wouldn’t want to overindulge in the not so healthy things. As for balance, my top tip would have to be honour your body and mind

Do you have a favourite quote or mantra ?

The mantra I use for myself, and it’s one I have to remind myself of daily, is “Everything takes time”. I constantly rush through things or I am impatient to be a year or two down the line of my training to get where I want to be, I forget that everything spectacular takes time.

What message do you want to share ?

The message I want to share is passion, joy and freedom of spirit.

What is the most influential thing have you learnt on this beautiful journey called life so far?

The most influential thing I’ve heard so far is this video, it continues to inspire me and influence me every time I watch it.

The Juice Of Love


Greeeeeen Juice! I love to flood my body with greens when I can. Greens are one of my top foods for vitality and vibrant health.

Here is a delicious green juice recipe for you to try :

Pearfect Love

  • 1 x Pear
  • handful of spinach
  • 1 cucumber
  • small handful of parsley

Put all ingredients through the juicer and enjoy the nourishing goodness and burst of energy!

Holistically I work with balancing the chakra’s with my clients too and love how this can be combined with certain foods.

The Heart Chakra:

Green is the colour linked to the heart chakra.  The heart chakra is the energy centre of love and relationships in our body. This centre governs our sexual relationships, work relationships, family relationships, our relationship with mother nature, basically our relationship with everything and how we experience it. When our energy flows through it, the heart is opened and true love becomes possible, this includes self love! (my favourite)

Matcha Latte – Morning’s with a Smile


I’m a sensitive soul to caffeine.. always have been .. first time I realised was when I used to drink that “C word” drink..

Coco Cola! (yeah back in my teens)  sshh…

I used to get heart palpitations from the caffeine. Diagnosed as asthma.. it wasn’t .. but hey thats a different story!

I’ve always  really wanted to be able to drink green tea because of all the antioxidants, but I couldn’t handle it in the teabag form,  as it would still have the caffeine effect on me.

Then I heard of Matcha and it’s  wonderful, wonderful health benefits, and I just had to give it a try, but I was wary of the palpitations and caffeine sweats that I would usually encounter with the normal green tea bags.

Matcha is different though you see, its the whole green tea leaf. It’s a bright green powder, which shows how fresh and loaded with chlorophyll it is and it is highly alkalising too. Its a much higher concentrate of green tea, and I’m sure because it is the “whole” leaf this is the reason my body has no problem with it at all. My body actually LOVES  it!

Firstly the Zen monks in Japan used to and still do drink it as a sacred tradition in Tea Ceremonies, and it carried the meaning of purity, dignity and mental clarity to them! So that was my first reason that I was drawn to Matcha powder.

 Here are the many benefits :
  1. Antioxidants : The first amazing benefit of Matcha Green Tea is that just one bowl provides over 5 times as many antioxidants as any other food.
  2. Cancer fighting properties : Green tea contains a specific set of organic compounds known as catechins. Among antioxidants, catechins are the most potent and beneficial. One specific catechin called epigallocatechin gallate (EGCg) makes up 60% of the catechins in Matcha Green Tea. Out of all the antioxidants, EGCg is the most widely recognized for its cancer fighting properties. Scientists have found that Matcha Green Tea contains over 100 times more EGCg than any other tea on the market.
  3. Calming : Matcha Green Tea has been used by Chinese Daoists and Japanese Zen Buddhist monks as a means to relax and meditate while remaining alert. Now we know that this higher state of consciousness is due to the amino acid L-Theanine contained in the leaves used to make Matcha. L-Theanine promotes the production of alpha waves in the brain which induces relaxation without the inherent drowsiness caused by other “downers.”
  4. Boost Memory and Concentration : Another side-effect of L-Theanine is the production of dopamine and serotonin. These two chemicals serve to enhance mood, improve memory, and promote better concentration – something that can benefit everyone!
  5. Energy Levels : While all green tea naturally contains caffeine, the energy boost received from Matcha is largely due to its unique combination of other nutrients. The increased endurance from a bowl of Matcha Green Tea can last up to 6 hours and because of the effects of L-Theanine, Matcha drinkers experience none of the usual side-effects of stimulants such as nervousness and hypertension. It’s good, clean energy.
  6. Metabolism :Drinking Matcha Green Tea has also been shown to increase metabolism and help the body burn fat about four times faster than average. Again, unlike many diet aides currently on the market, Matcha causes no negative side-effects such as increased heart rate and high blood pressure.
  7. Detoxifies: During the last three weeks before tea leaves are harvested to be made into Matcha, Camellia sinensis are covered to deprive them of sunlight. This causes a tremendous increase in chlorophyll production in the new growth of these plants. The resulting high levels of chlorophyll in Matcha Green Tea not only give this tea its beautiful vibrant green color. Matcha is also a powerful detoxifier capable of naturally removing heavy metals and chemical toxins from the body.
  8. Immune System: The catechins in Matcha Green Tea have been shown to have antibiotic properties which promote overall health. Additionally, just one bowl of Matcha Green Tea provides substantial quantities of Potassium, Vitamins A & C, Iron, Protein, and Calcium. Further studies have even suggested that the nutrients in Matcha may have the ability to inhibit the attacks of HIV on human T-cells.
  9. Cholesterol: Researchers aren’t entirely certain how Matcha Green Tea has such a positive effect on cholesterol, however studies of different populations have shown that people who drink Match Green Tea on a regular basis have lower levels of LDL (bad) cholesterol while at the same time displaying higher levels of HDL (good) cholesterol. Men who drink Matcha Green Tea are about 11% less likely to develop heart disease than those who don’t drink Matcha.

I bet you want to drink it now don’t you!

So here is a delicious latte recipe that I enjoy most mornings :

Matcha Latte:

  • 1/2 tsp of Matcha ( I use Vitalife)
  • 2 cups of almond milk ( you can make your own)
  • a few drops of stevia ( I use sweet leaf stevia)
  • cinnamon to taste, (I lovvvve cinnamon, i have loads!!)
  • 1 tbsp cacao powder (optional)
  • 1 tbsp of coconut oil

I heat the almond milk on a really low heat until warm, then I add in the rest of the ingredients and whisk together. I like to then add it to my vitamix and give it a quick blend which makes it go lovely and frothy. The frothier the better 🙂

Pad Thai Noodles


I love Pad Thai, the fragrant spices and yet so simple!

This recipe is beautifully healthy too.


  • 2 courgette’s  – spiralized into noodles
  • 1 x garlic clove
  • 2 x tbsp lime juice
  • 2 x tbsp filtered water
  • 1 x dropperful of stevia (or maple syrup)
  • 2  x tbsp of almond butter
  • pinch of seasalt
  • 1  x tsp grated ginger
  • 1 x sweet red pepper sized into thin strips
  1. Spiralize the courgette’s and place in a large bowl
  2. Add the sliced red pepper
  3. Add all the other ingredients into a blender, blend until smooth.
  4. Pour the sauce onto of the noodles and serve!
  5. You could steam the courgette noodles if you’d like a warm meal.
  6. Enjoy!

Courgettes are high in Vitamin C.

I am as always so excited to introduce another Beautiful Being to you today.

Anna Louise, I met at a Crystal workshop, it was such an amazing day, and filled with super loving energy from all the crystal’s and meditation we did that day. I felt a connection and found out we have lots of interests in common, such as reiki, yoga, energy healing and both being very passionate about building our own dream lives around career and what we love to do and share with the world.

I have alot of love to give, I want to make a difference in the world and help people create incredible lives for themselves. I am a Reiki 2 practitioner, will be training next year to be a yoga teacher. I love travelling, reading, I am a massive bookworm! Self development comes in to my every day, I love learning and being inspired! I’m from Newcastle and I’m 33 years young 🙂

I am a great public speaker, I am a channel for free flowing love energy, I’m a great listener, I am skilled in yoga but there’s lots further to go!

Start the day with a yoga session, then breakfast at Mr Buckleys in Hackney with friends. A crystal course in the day meeting amazing magical people. Then a session of reiki for a client early evening, followed by Thai food with my family!

Grapes, bananas and pineapple – I love fruit!

Live a life of your passions, not what others say you should do. Be free from the 9 to 5, eat the right food, get plenty of exercise and surround yourself with positive people.

What is the most influential thing you have learnt on this beautiful journey called life so far?

I did a Vipassana in India – a 10-day silent meditation retreat. I learned the most important lesson I have ever learned, that everything you are, every problem you have, every negative thing, everything – is down to you. You are the one that controls how you react, therefore you are the reason you are where you are today. Basically we are the masters of our own universe.

I connected with Polly Anna over Facebook, she is a super lovely person, a beautiful kind soul, and her name of course is awesome!

Where do you live in this wonderful world at the moment?

At this very moment, I live on the East Coast of the United States.  I will be moving around though very soon, and I’m unsure in what new magical place I will settle.

What do you do for “work”?

I do a variety of things! Hehe First and foremost, I am a writer.  I write novels, screenplays, and nonfiction books.  I am hoping to release the first book in my new novel series in 2014.  I also teach!  I teach everything from English and writing to the metaphysical and spiritual.  All of my courses are online, and there will be more coming out after the New Year.

Tell us a little about your beautiful unique self, what are your unique talents & gifts?

I love this question!  I believe so many people have so many talents and gifts they don’t usually know what to do with all of them.  For me, I am particularly gifted at most things that fall under the arts or communications umbrella.  I’m extremely empathetic to other beings and their emotions.  I am able to channel those things in my “work”.  I would say my most apparent unique talent or gift would be the ability to love completely without requiring anything in return.  I know this may sound silly as a talent or gift, but it’s so hard for me not to fall completely in love with humanity.  Even though there are horrendous things that occur on the planet, they pale in comparison to the acts of kindness, love, and compassion I’ve seen.

What does being healthy mean to you?

Being healthy, to me, means living in balance and alignment.  Eating the things our body asks for (that really are food, not chemical concoctions), moving your body in the way that most benefits your unique body, and caring for one’s mental, emotional, and spiritual needs.  If any of these things are out of balance, you shift yourself from and alignment of “healthy and functioning” to “unhealthy and decaying”.  It’s so important to learn our bodies, minds, and spirits in order to learn what best nourishes us.  In a nutshell, I believe it’s all about honoring the ebb and flow that is our distinct energetic being in this lifetime.

What makes you feel alive?

I feel alive when I am in a constant mode of creation.  That’s what makes me love writing so much.  I get to constantly be in a creative state of being.  I also love to go hiking through the woods, laughing super hard with friends and family, sharing dreams with others, cuddling up with a good book, or watching amazing movies/TV shows.  Honestly, anything creative, collaborative, meditative, or expansive in a healthy and loving setting makes me feel exhilarated.

What breakfast gets you off to a flying start?

The best breakfast I’ve found is either green smoothies or juices that I make from fresh, raw ingredients (dairy free).  I am someone who does really well with those things first thing in the morning.  I am better able to focus, I have more energy, and I just feel good when I drink smoothies or juices for breakfast.

What would be your perfect day?

This is such a great question!  My idea of a perfect day would be as follows:

  • Wake up from an epic dream I can’t wait to share with someone.
  • Make my awesome breakfast from fresh, raw, organic fruits and vegetables.
  • Do some amazing yoga from Viktoriya (she’s a yoga goddess!), do some martial arts, and go commune with nature in some way, like going for a hike, a walk, climbing a tree, or sitting by a river, creek, lake, or ocean.
  • Do something epic for lunch (no idea what it is yet because I have yet to find epic lunchness!)
  • Write write write write!
  • Amazing dinner with someone(s) I love
  • Nightly ritual, such as meditating, intention setting, dancing, communing with my guides/universal energy, etc.
  • Get the news that there is no more war, hunger, or disease in the world and we have moved into a peaceful collaboration of human caretakers of the planet we’re here to protect and love, where everyone is loved, supported, and cared for.
  • Read a book
  • Epic Dreamtime

What are your top 3 foods that make you feel vibrant?

  1. Avocados! Hands down, my favorite food on the planet, and the food that makes me feel the most glow-filled.
  2. Bananas.  I don’t actually like the taste of bananas, but I love to freeze them and use them as a base for my smoothies!  They make me feel wonderful and they have an excellent texture when blended from a frozen state.
  3. Homemade vegetable soup!  My family cans tomatoes every year, and I LOVE the vegetable soup base we make!  Every time I eat it, it feels as if a magical alchemy has just taken place within my body.
  4. Honorable mention: ROMA TOMATOES!!!! Nom nom nom!

What’s your favourite nourishing recipe to share with us?

My favorite recipe that I love to eat (not sure if it’s properly combined, so I generally save it for dinner to give my body more time to digest it in case it is improperly combined) is my personally tweaked version of an Avocado Sandwich!

  • Ezekiel bread
  • Avocado slices (amount will vary depending on your personal preference)
  • Spinach (fresh, raw)
  • Basil leaves (fresh, raw)
  • Roma tomato slices
  • Red onion (sometimes hehe)
  • Hummus with cayenne pepper (optional but totally yummy)

I like to lightly toast my Ezekiel bread, but you don’t have to.  It’s equally yummy without toasting.  But when I need to feel good and focus my mind, this is my go to sandwich.  I always feel so much better after eating it.

What are your top tips for happiness, health & balance?

The most important tip I have for maintaining happiness, health, and balance is don’t be afraid to communicate your needs to yourself and others.  It’s so important that we stay in touch with what it is our bodies and spirits are asking from us.  If we learn to stay present and listen to what it is we need, then we are able to make shifts in our lives much easier.  

The second piece of advice I have is don’t be afraid to be a hermit for a little bit.  The world can get so loud and drown out our own inner voices.  It’s important to take time out and commune with ourselves from time to time.  I don’t think everyone needs to go out into the woods for a year or two, but I do think being able to sit alone in a quiet room and just be with yourself is vital for balance.  We often live in some sort of denial or unawareness of something within ourselves.  This can create havoc in our lives; so learning to sit (or stand, walk, dance, etc) without the need for external stimuli is a tool we can use to bring us back to center.  I do a self-hermitage about once a year when I feel it’s time and for however long I feel is necessary.   There’s nothing strict or restrictive about this process; rather, it’s about honoring and listening to the sacred energy within ourselves.

This next tip is something I’m working on myself still, but it’s so important!  Try not to eat food that isn’t food.  It might sound silly, but when you fuel your body with the best food instead of chemical compounds and exploits that damage your body, then you really start to thrive in every area of your life.

This is my last quick tip, and it’s probably the most important.  Never stop growing, expanding, and changing.  We are evolving creatures.  Nothing is meant to stay consistent.  We may be creatures of habit, but more than that, we are creatures of impermanence.  Don’t be daunted by shaking things up.  It is in our nature to seek newness in all things.  We are visionaries that have the ability to see things as they are, imagine where they could go, and build the bridge to make those connections.  We are here to explore, integrate, expand, and create; the only way to effectively engage in those natural states of being is to make your personal evolution a priority.

What message do you want to share?

The most important message I have to share with others is the gentle, loving request that you never forget the omnipresent power you have within.  We are often trained to feel disposable, inconsequential, and, at worst, worthless.  These things couldn’t be further from the truth.  You are a beautiful being that is here because you contain the power of change.  We often hear the debate “is human nature good or bad, kind or evil”.  I think this is the wrong question altogether because it supposes there is only one option and ignores the unifying truth: human nature is one of constant change and evolution.  You are a powerful creator.  Just like using electricity, whether or not you understand your importance doesn’t mean you don’t use it every day.  Every action, word, and thought for you produce ripples out into the world and alters it.  It is up to you what change you wish those ripples to communicate.  You simply cannot exist without changing the world.  Even if all you did was breathe, you are converting oxygen into carbon dioxide and changing the elemental distribution of the planet.  Just by existing, you change the whole world.  What is it you wish to change?  What do you feel is the best use of your life as an infinite creator?

What is the most influential thing have you learnt on this beautiful journey called life so far?

There are so many things I’ve learned, and I am always learning more every day.  I think the most influential thing I’ve learned is the understanding that everything is connected and I am an integral part of that connection.  The power of understanding that I’m here for a reason (as is everyone), even if I don’t understand what that reason may be, empowers me to continue moving forward to the highest expression of myself I can be.  I used to worry about being perfect, which led to heartbreak and discouragement.  When I freed myself from the bondage of perceived perfectionism, I was able to embrace myself for who I am, not just who I wanted to be.
