I’ve been really into using herb’s and spices lately and focusing on all of the great benefits they give us. Herbs and spices promote health and wellbeing in your entire body, not just in a particular area.
My chosen spice this week has been Tumeric!
Yesterday I made the Detox Iced tea, and today I experimented in the kitchen to make something warm and comforting. I had some soaked almonds to hand (soaked overnight) so i decided to make some almond milk with these, by blending a cup of soaked almonds with 3 cups of water, and sieved through a nut milk bag to make a creamy almond milk!
This tea is excellent if you have anything swollen in your body as the curcumin inside the spice is a powerful anti inflammatory agent. Plus it has cinnamon in it and anything with cinnamon is YUM:)
1 cup) almond or coconut milk
1/2 teaspoon turmeric
1/2-inch wide round slice of ginger root, peeled and finely chopped
Dash of cayenne pepper
3 drops of Stevia ( you could use honey or agave syrup)
1/2 tsp Cinnamon
Gently warm the almond milk in a pan.
In a mug or in the saucepan combine all ingredients and stir until creamy smooth with no lumps.
You can leave the pieces of ginger in the tea or take it out before drinking..
Reason’s to enjoy this Spicy tea. Well it is 5 to 8 times stronger than vitamin E and stronger than vitamin C, it boost’s your immune system, it can promote radiant skin, improve your digestion, promote healthy blood and liver function, soooo many great benefits.
It’s not expensive to make, and you can easily find Tumeric powder at the shops! I am yet to find some turmeric root as that would probably be even better, especially if you can get organic..
I’ve already enjoyed two cups of this, and it was very soothing, and Ieft my tummy feeling very happy
